As of Monday, November 1, visiting hours will be extended to include 3 visits to the Centre per week with one family designate.  If you choose to change the family member designate identified in our records please do so. As you can see from the attached announcement the Outbreak at Victoria Chinatown Care Centre has been declared over by the Ministry of Health and Provincial Health Office.   We are delighted to be able to share this information with you and we are happy that you can be physically reunited with your loved ones again soon.  To this end, pre-planned visiting within the Centre and outings will have some boundaries so that we can contain where possible, further risk of COVID-19 entering the facility risking residents and staff health struggles.  We are certain that you, as with all staff will … Read more

LONG TERM CARE UPDATE Parts of the Residential Care Staff COVID-19 Preventive Measures Order come into effect next week. Thank you to all of our staff who have already been vaccinated. Your actions have helped ensure the safety of your colleagues and the residents of Island Health. On September 16, employees who are not yet fully vaccinated will be required to undergo rapid testing for COVID-19 on every shift worked. New Mask Rules

With a recent increase in cases, masks for all staff in Long-term Care and Assisted Living must be reintroduced regardless of immunization status. All staff must wear a medical-grade mask when in a facility and anywhere healthcare is provided.  Mask use for visitors is currently under review and further communication will be forthcoming.
